The legal stuff · written by a human
Privacy Policy.
The short version: I collect the bare minimum, I keep it safe, and I never sell it. The longer version is below. Written like a person, not a lawyer.
TL;DR – I’m a one-person copy studio. I only ask for the info I need to write good words and send you a sensible invoice. No tracking pixels chasing you across the internet. No mailing list you didn’t ask for.
01
What I collect
Honestly? Not a lot. I’m a copywriter, not a data broker. Here’s the short list:
↳ Contact info you send me – name, email, company, the project you want help with.
↳ Anything you put in an email to me. Treat that one accordingly.
↳ Basic site analytics – pages visited, browser, country. No creepy tracking, no ad networks following you around the internet.02
Why I have it
Three reasons, all of them boring:
↳ To reply to your enquiry and quote your project.
↳ To send you the work, the invoice and the occasional polite follow-up.
↳ To see which pages on this site people actually read, so I can stop writing the ones nobody does.03
Who I share it with
Nobody fun. A small handful of tools that help me run a one-person business like my email provider, an email delivery service that passes on messages from my contact form, a spam-protection service that checks the form is sent by a person, invoicing software, and an analytics provider. Each one only sees the bit of data they need to do their job.
I don’t sell your information. I don’t trade it. I don’t hand it to advertisers.04
Cookies (the digital kind)
This site only uses what it needs to work, like remembering your cookie choice and stopping the contact form from being spammed. Analytics cookies, which count visits so I can see which pages get read, are only set if you choose “Accept analytics”. Nothing follows you off this site. You can change your mind any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, or clear cookies in your browser settings.
05
Your rights
You can ask me to:
↳ Show you what I’ve got on file about you.
↳ Fix anything that’s wrong.
↳ Delete it all (subject to any tax records I’m legally required to keep).
↳ Stop emailing you. One reply and you’re out.06
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don’t turn into projects are cleared out within 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as we’re working together, plus the years the tax office insists on. After that, they go in the bin.
– Questions, complaints, polite hellos
